2nd Mo. State Militia Cavalry

The 2nd Missouri State Militia Cavalry was organized between December 1861 and April 1862 and battled guerrillas in Missouri and Arkansas, then participated in the pursuit of General Sterling Price during his raid through Missouri in 1864. The 2nd was mustered out of service on April 20, 1865.  Most of the regiment was from north-central and northeast Missouri but they apparently enlisted several from Southeast Missouri while stationed there during service from 1863 until the close of the war.
